The “Bar” or “Far” Experiment
The Bar or Far experiment makes a nice starter to any lesson and illustrates the power of our senses.
What you see below is the called the The McGurk effect. It is a demonstration of how we use visual speech information. The effect shows that we can’t help but integrate visual speech into what we ‘hear’. It does not matter if you know how it works you will still hear what your visual speech information indicates to your brain.
