The sum of the natural numbers from 1 to infinity
So I sat here watching this video from @numberphile on you tube thinking this can not be true and there must be some mathematical magic to show that the sum of the natural numbers from 1 to infinity is -1/12. After watching the video I was totally left gob smacked with the explanation!
If you are not sure about how this works after watching the whole video then you must forward it to a Mathematician that you know for an explanation, as this is truly amazing : )
The video will make a great starter for any high ability group and I know what I will be doing with my top set year 11 next lesson.
